DCI Engineers
Scott Rivas, PE, CESCL, LEED AP“After my sophomore year in college, I joined a 6-week mission trip to Borneo, Malaysia to install a water system for a remote village. When the locals could have access to clean water, I realized how much I enjoyed water systems and the impact civil engineers have on communities."
Scott takes great pride in being part of a team that completes a design that meets its objectives and the finished construction creates a place for others to appreciate and enjoy. When it comes to the future availability and quality of water, he believes there will always be changes to laws and policies that will ultimately require innovative engineering design solutions, which inspires him professionally even more. Scott leads in-house discussions and industry seminars to educate his colleagues and other A/E/C professionals about the advances in civil engineering and water systems. He was on the technical review committee for the Eastern Washington Low Impact Development (LID) Guidance Manual published by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Since 2004, Scott has been a valuable technical resource for the staff in finding cost effective solutions for clients and facility users. |
